The advent of Duke Orbal’s Grand Exposition of Marvels has drawn bauble-seekers and dark-eyed sorcerers from every distant land to the town of Cuirnif, all hoping to compete for the eccentric ruler's grand prize, including your disparate group of wayfarers and magicians. On the eve of the contest, however, travelers from the north arrive spreading tales of strange creatures that stalk the Tsombol marsh and of a dark tower that rises from the moor, adumbrating the twilight sky and spreading rumors as to its portents. Now the Duke has promised a reward to the first who returns from the tower with proof of its secrets and the displacement of its minions!
