Electronic trio Magic Sword will adventure their way through a live game of D&D with comedians, Mo Mitchell & Brian Pitre; and comic book artist Shay Plummer, led by DM Nate Utesch aka Metavari.
Description:
Follow along as Magic Sword (the cloaked Immortals known as The Seer, The Weaver, and The Keeper) adventure their way through this D&D live play event. The Immortals will be joined by Shay Plummer (illustrator/author of the Magic Sword comics), and local comedians Mo Mitchell (storyteller) and Brian Pitre (Co-Producer for RocketShip Comedy, visual artist). Dressed for Fantasy II is tailored to immerse the audience in a fantastical world of light and sound inspired by music from from the Indianapolis-based record label, Joyful Noise Recordings. We'll pick up where the 2022 game left off—with the Elemental Fear temporarily recoiled, The Immortals have transported home but it seems something has interrupted the journey. The Magic Sword is in grave danger. Willing audience members will participate in the outcome of the story by helping players in real time. DM: Nate Utesch, aka Metavari.
Dressed for Fantasy: A D&D Live Play Hosted by Metavari
Summary:
Magic Sword, Metavari and artists from Joyful Noise adventure their way through a custom 5e campaign inspired and scored by music from the record label’s catalog. Audience participation encouraged!
Description:
Follow along as Magic Sword, Mike Adams and other artists from Indianapolis’ own Joyful Noise Recordings (JNR) adventure their way through a custom 5e campaign. The game is tailored to immerse the audience in a fantastical world inspired by the music from JNR's catalog. Metavari will DM the event. The campaign is a homebrew cocktail of carefully built experiences that subtly (and not so subtly) reference the JNR lyrics, artwork and personalities. The live play’s score will utilize a unique soundboard for the event that the DM will use to launch sound effects, triumphant entries, battle music, and soundscapes. This event will carry its own light show and real-time projections of the players' stats and maps. The audience will get a chance to catch and roll their own random encounters during the show using giant inflatable d20s.
