Pursued by forces both natural and powerfully preternatural, can the Dreamers survive long enough to figure out why they are being chased? An intro scenario to portal fantasy beyond the wall of sleep.
Long Description:
Dreamland is a roleplaying game inspired by the fantasy stories of Lord Dunsany, H.P. Lovecraft, Kij Johnson and Michael Ende. Drawing from sources like Labyrinth, The Neverending Story, Through the Garden Wall, Marco Polo and the isekai genre, Dreamland takes you through the gateway to a fantasy world of symbolism, wonder and horror.
Published by Exalted Funeral, Dreamland is designed and illustrated by Jason Bradley Thompson, ENnie-nominated illustrator and writer for numerous roleplaying games (Dungeons & Dragons, Call of Cthulhu, Lamentations of the Flame Princess etc.) and artist of a graphic novel adaptation of H.P. Lovecrafts The Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath.
The core game mechanic is centered around 300 Word Cards inspired by the writing of Lord Dunsany or H.P. Lovecraft--the players talk in character or about their character using the words to add to a 1d6 roll.
