How do educators increase student engagement and gain quick feedback on student retention? Explore how I have blended online polling and gamification in a unique way that promotes student engagement and retention with minimal expenses. Then, begin developing and applying this model to your teaching. By the end of this session, participants will: 1) understand the basic principles and supporting research for the integration of gamification and online polling systems in education including game design tools and literature. 2) Begin creating their own class-specific activity and walk away with additional resources to continue the development of the game. 3) Develop strategies for in-person and remote applications. This seminar is for any level educator from grade school through college and could be creatively applied to any subject.
