The Proving Grounds tournament is an additional opportunity at the Grand Kotei for players who did not advance to the Daimyō Stage to earn their place in the Winter Court World Championship over six rounds of play. Players who did advance, but are eliminated from the Daiymō Stage before the top 16 can charge into the Proving Grounds with byes for the rounds they missed for one last chance.
