This event is for anyone needing personalized assistance with character designs whether it be for puppetry or illustrations. Come with an idea, concept, or even a sketch, and professional designer/illustrator, Steve Troop will help you refine your idea into something fantastic! Designs may be provided on paper, or will be emailed to you after the workshop.

Puppet Karaoke is a relaxed, fun evening where professional puppeteers, newbies, and everyone in between can put on a show together that you won't soon forget. Come to watch, or come to participate. Either way, you'll have a great time. I mean, just imagine a sandwich singing your favorite Hamilton song. Glorious. Some puppets will be provided, however we highly encourage you to bring your own--because GEERRRMSSS!
Pro puppet builders will discuss the various types of mouth-plate construction with methods and benefits of each. (That's the bit that the puppeteer holds onto inside a puppet.) Ask questions!
Play around with other puppeteers on-camera & get in some practice doing improv & camera work in a group-setting. Come to play or just to watch the fun, it's up to you! Bring a puppet!

The end of the Cold War and the fall of the Soviet Union returned the state of Russia as a player in the international system. Led by Vladimir Putin, Russia has attempted to forge for itself a dominant position in that system. This lecture looks at the goals and motivations of Russia under Putin and whether it has been a success at staking out a Great Power position in that system. Presented by Dr. Craig Greathouse, Professor of Political Science specializing in the EU, International Relations Theory and Security and Defense Policy, of the National Security Decision Making Game staff.
