"Cube" is a casual format where players build decks from a pre-determined set of cards. This year's cube contains only cards of Common rarity (i.e., "pauper").
Description:
Players will draft 40-card decks from a "Pauper Cube" of 360 common cards and then face off in a friendly, unofficial "tournament-style" competition. Players do not need to bring or buy any cards for this event.
The organizer would like this cube to grow for future ConTessa events! Feel free to donate (preferably low-cost) cards to the "ConTessa Cube" for future events!
Although no one will be turned away for lack of experience (or if they have never drafted before!), please familiarize yourself with the basics of Magic: The Gathering game play before participating.
Teams of up to four planeswalkers are invited to compete in a pub-trivia-style contest of all things Magic: The Gathering
Description:
Think you know everything there is to know about Magic: The Gathering? Prove it! Five rounds of trivia and some likewise mighty mind mages are all that stand between you and fabulous prizes, including rare premium promo cards, unopened Commander decks, and sealed booster boxes!
Each round, a series of questions will be presented alongside a projected slideshow. You and your teammates (if you have any; solo players welcome!) will write your answers on the sheets provided. Points will be tallied each round, and winners will receive their choice of prizes. Teams may consist of up to four friends, but each individual player on the team will need their own event ticket to enter. No need to fear if you're outnumbered, though: in addition to the grand prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, the highest-finishing team of each size that didn't make the overall Top 3 will also win some excellent loot!
