The teenage heroes of Next-Gen are on a field trip to The Hunter Museum of Natural History in Freedom City. They are there to see a traveling collection of rocks, minerals, and gemstones. Sounds exciting, right? No, not at all. But the excitement level suddenly increases when a mysterious villain makes a grand and showy entrance. Why is he there? To steal a legendary gemstone, of course! Things quickly get out of hand and the villain somehow manages to make off with the gem. But what is this gemstone? And why does the villain want it?
