Over time, many games have becomeself-referential, fed by the RPG versions of the ancient tales, rather than by the original sources. How can a gamemaster enliven a game by drawing directly from the source? How can a campaign setting be transformed by understanding the stories that inspired classic fantasy tropes? What happens, for instance, when the druid in your fantasy game becomes the wizardly druid of Irish mythology, rather than the shapeshifter of modern RPGs? How can you use the tales of old to weave new stories that move your players?
