Call Between the Stars: Pilgrims on the Road to Damascus Station
Summary:
Damascus Station is a waypoint between worlds with a rough reputation. When pious pilgrims arrive, pressures mount. What dangers will happen on the edge of the dark between stars?
Description:
Damascus Station has a rough reputation. As the last stop for public transports in this quadrant, long-haul freighters, weary repair crews, and suspicious smugglers all seem to wind up here. Lately, though, the nearby planet of Alexandria has been attracting a new kind of traveler: pious pilgrims seeking spiritual and intellectual enlightenment. New travelers bring new problems, as pressures between the disparate groups. This game is part of a two game prequel to "TCBTS Episode 1: Turn on the L.Y.T.E.S." While it is not necessary to play in any other Call Between the Stars games this year, decisions made in this game will affect subsequent ones, and players may want to sign up for other games in the series. A short, fast-paced action card game of trust and betrayal in which players make mythical animal noises instead of talking.
Description:
Each player takes a pack of 10 cards and draws 2. Any and all players may then place one of these cards face-down on the table and make one of the 5 animal sounds. If two players are both making the same "call" they may choose to meet and reveal their cards. If they were both being honest, the animals mate and each player scores 1 point. However if one player has an animal other than the one he was representing (he was "hunting"), then he may eat the other player's animal and score 2 points while the other player scores 0. When one player has used her last card the game is over. Whoever has scored the most points wins!
