This is the second qualifying round of 2. This is the larger Axis & Allies Global 1940 game that puts the 2 games, Europe & Pacific 1940 together. It is a tournament and there are specific victory conditions and time limits that are not part of the OTB rules. You may bring up to 2 partners per side to a maximum of 3 players per side. If you are a solo player in the event, you may be paired up with another player or two to accommodate all players wanting to play into the event. Once team has been selected, you may not change teammates at any time during the tournament. Tournament consists of 2 qualifying rounds. Then the 4 winning teams of the qualifying games play in the semi-final single elimination round on Saturday and then those 2 winners play in finals on Sunday. Final on Sunday starts at 7am and can be no longer than 8 hours!

Description:
Axis & Allies War At Sea: Battle of Cape Sparviento. This event is a team teaching, large scale event for novice or first time players. Game materials (map, ship miniatures, dice, etc.) will be provided for this learning event. Up to six players can be accommodated. Winners will be able to keep some of the fleet units. The Setting: On 27 November 1940, the Italian fleet attempted to intercept and stop a British convoy and its Royal Navy protection from reaching and resupplying the Island of Malta in the Mediterranean. Italian and British cruisers and battleships engaged in a running gun battle for almost an hour before both forces disengaged as neither side was able to obtain a significant advantage. This teaching game will use ships and a map setup that roughly represents this battle as an introduction to the mechanics of Axis & Allies Naval Miniature game.
Each player will receive a 100+ pt. pre-constructed starter fleet of Axis or Allies, their choice. The fleets will be constructed from the Advanced Starter sets and Condition Zebra boosters.

You may interchange fleet units between games with your extra units and trading between other players in the League is strongly encouraged.
