Mist Island's appearance always presages great changes; cataclysms, plagues, rebellions, wars...Will you prevent catastrophe or cause it?
Description:
Mist Island is a legendary landmass that never appears in the same place twice. Its appearance always presages great changes; cataclysms, plagues, rebellions, wars... For some, it represents a once-in-a-generation opportunity for rare herbs or poisons. For others, its presence must be eliminated once and for all. You and your stalwart companions are part of an expedition to the Island, though your motives are your own. Will you prevent catastrophe or cause it? Will you be heroes or villains to the coastal kingdoms and empires the Island haunts? More importantly, will you survive Mist Island? Tales are that those who venture onto the mist-shrouded place are forever cursed, others say those foolhardy enough to sail towards the island are never seen again. The City of Kalumnoir has stood for a thousand years. Built upon a mountain, Kalumnoir is divided into seven districts or "circles," which progress up the mountain from the bottom.
Description:
Kalumnoir is a shared-world, multi-system RPG setting. Here are some of the key themes surrounding the Kalumnoir setting: A world of high magic. Potions can be readily purchased in most settlements. Temples & mages offer spellcasting at a price on a regular basis. Magic is woven through the fabric of existence. The world is old. Civilizations have risen and fallen and risen again and again. Strange creatures, stranger than anything seen in Kalumnoir today, have roamed the world. Civilizations of advanced technology, akin to the modern world and beyond, have turned to dust. There are no known portals to other planes or worlds in Kalumnoir. The very edges of the world seem to connect to other realms, but maps and tales are inconsistent. HUMANS ARE NOT THE DOMINANT SPECIES. While humans can be found in most corners of the world, they have not yet begun to dominate its surface.
