In this interactive workshop, actor and voice coach Tobi Mattingly will take you through exercises and techniques to help you create unique and consistent character voices in a safe and healthy way.
Description:
Bring your characters to life! You'll walk away from this session with a toolkit you can use to quickly and easily create many different character voices. You'll also learn tricks to reliably find those voices again, whether you're switching between many voices in one scene or bringing an NPC back months later. This is an abridged version of a workshop originally developed for professional actors doing audio drama, so the tools will serve you whether you need them for your home game, your Twitch stream, or your podcast! Expanded from last year, with more time to explore and play!
Want to sell your art or crafts, be hired as a GM, or turn some other hobby into a side (or full time) hustle? Come learn how to evaluate viability, and avoid common legal and financial pitfalls.
Description:
Many people turn their hobbies into successful businesses. But plenty others make errors early on that cost them time, money, and even their love of the hobby. Still others never try at all, fearing exactly such a negative outcome. Do I need a business license? When do I have to pay income tax, or sales tax? What do I need to charge to make a profit? Whatever your hobby, this workshop provides answers to many of these questions, and a clear blueprint on how to find answers for the rest for your specific hobby and location. Facilitator Tobi Mattingly is an Enrolled Agent (licensed tax pro) and provider of small business services, working with artists, performers, creators, and hobby-entrepreneurs of all stripes for more than a decade. She's also a creator herself, having worked over the past 25 years as an actor, director, musician, and game designer. Expanded from last year's workshop!
Lets wake up our bodies and minds for the Con day ahead! Well do mindful movement, stretches, and meditation, with a focus on self-care. This class is all levels, options will be given throughout.
Marketing as an unknown game designer can feel overwhelming. But like assembling a game engine, it's all about aligning the right pieces early so that the system sustains, feeds, and grows itself.
Description:
There's a ton of marketing advice out there, making it hard to know where to focus, especially when you'd rather be working on your game itself. But designing your marketing strategy isn't actually all that different from designing a game. In this workshop you'll learn a straightforward way to figure out which marketing moves are right for you at any given time, and how to get them working together in harmony so your engine starts to do a lot of the work for you.
Each player plants and grows trees with the power of the sun, while trying to cast shadows to hinder their opponents and accumulate points for victory.
Collect and upgrade different-shaped pieces, developing an engine to fill in puzzle tiles and score points. Accumulate the most points by the time the final tile is revealed to win.

Jean Luc Picard & The Enterprise crew battle Romulan Commander Tomalak in a race across the Alpha Quadrant, completing missions & overcoming dilemmas to score enough points to declare victory.
A magical, urban-fantasy adventure driven by tarot cards in place of dice! Each player controls one archetypal inner Aspect of a shared Hero (think Pixar's Inside Out). No tarot experience needed.
Description:
Tarot informs every element of this game; it has defined the entire magical universe in which the game exists, is used to create characters & shape narrative, & drives outcomes through rich & exciting game mechanics that are just as satisfying as rolling dice in other RPGs. Players share control of a single Hero, each playing an internal Aspect of that Hero based on archetypal figures from the tarot. Roleplay includes Aspects interacting with each other to give voice to the Hero's inner conflicts & decisions, as well as trading off the control of their shared Hero in the world. The Diviner (GM) reads cards, using the number, suit, & interpretation of a drawn card to drive scenes & resolve encounters. Equally enjoyable for those with no tarot experience or advanced practitioners. We kindly request all players wear appropriate face masks during this event.
