Tarot is an incredibly rich tool for introspection, guidance, and story, but can feel intimidating to learn. With the right introduction, though, it can actually be very easy to start reading any deck with confidence! In this workshop, Nyx will demystify the structure behind the symbols and get you reading the cards faster than you thought possible. Then she'll teach you how to apply your reading to your personal questions of introspection, your storytelling in writing or games, or any other application where you might want a bit of inspiration, insight, and magic. The two hours will include some lecture time and some hands-on reading time, and you'll even get your very own deck to take home! This workshop is designed for those who have little to no knowledge of tarot coming in, but will offer great depth and insights for those with some prior experience as well.

Tarot informs every element of this game; it has defined the entire magical universe in which the game exists, is used to create characters and shape narrative, and drives outcomes through rich and exciting game mechanics that are just as satisfying as rolling dice in other RPGs. Players share control of a single Hero, each playing an internal Aspect of that Hero based on archetypal figures from the tarot. Roleplay includes Aspects interacting with each other to give voice to the Hero's inner conflicts and decisions, as well as trading off the control of their shared Hero in the world. The Diviner (GM) reads cards, using the number, suit, and interpretation of a drawn card to drive scenes and resolve encounters. This one-shot will be equally enjoyable to those with no tarot experience or advanced practitioners. Participants will split into groups, four players per Diviner for gameplay.
