On the US home front there are racially charged protests bordering on civil unrest. The PC's are Rogues. People who live on the other side of the law and polite society. Some justify their actions to themselves in some manner, others know full well that if it was someone else's story, they would be the villains. Through their investigations they have found out that the world is far more terrible than they have imagined/caused. There are Dark Forces just outside the perceptions of most people who mean to control mankind.
