Players settle the inner solar system, and then explore and develop beyond to Mars, then triumphantly send missions to nearby star systems and establish interstellar colonies. Undertake a mission to Alpha Centauri in a generation ship. Break through technological barriers to achieve faster-than-light travel. Establish a colony in the Tau Ceti star system. The game is easy to learn, thematic, but with a underlying core of scientific reasoning behind the rules.
