Description:
The year is 878. For the past 90 years, Viking raiding parties have been terrorizing the coasts of England. These raids began as small hit-and-run engagements, but the stories of the English wealth and rich lands drove more Norsemen to join the invading hosts. Initially divided and unprepared for the onslaught, King Alfred and a newly unified English gentry need to strike back in order to save their land. In ‘878 Vikings’, players control either the invading Viking armies, comprised of Norsemen and Berserkers, or the defending English King’s Housecarl, Regional Noble Thegn troops, and local peasant Fyrd levies. This light, and fast paced multi-player game is the first in the Birth of Europe series, following the award-winning ‘1775 Rebellion’ from the Birth of Europe series. 2-4 players.

Play the ‘Mare Nostrum – Empires’ EPIC! variant which requires two victory conditions to be met to achieve total domination of the Mediterranean. This variant allows players to build their empires for a longer period of time, deepening empire to empire interaction, and increasing the need for negotiation and decisive play! This EPIC! variant will also features the new ‘Hero Leaders’ expansion, giving players the option to chose between two starting heroes for each empire!

France 1429 is a game of dynastic ambition, where players assume the roles of nobles in the 15th century Kingdom of France. Each player strives to become the most powerful ruling force in the Kingdom by gaining control of Fief and Bishopric territories. In turn, they acquire Royal and Ecclesiastical (church) titles which give their families influence to elect the next Pope and King. Players strengthen their positions by negotiating marriage alliances between their families, setting the stage for love treachery and deception! 3-6 players.
