You are all invited guests at Prince Prospero's lavish masquerade ball, but some of you serve the Red Death and work to eliminate others by getting them cast out of the party or killed. The other guests must find the Red Death before too many succumb to the plague. In this updated social deduction and elimination LARP, players role-play their character and use ability cards that can kill, search, rob, vote on, cast out or even zombify other players. Victory is achieved by the effective use of these abilities along with team coordination and social guile to manipulate the party for your teams favor. Cast out of the party? Maybe you can bribe your way back in. Dead? Perhaps you can send a vision to the living or a necromancer can make you 'undead'. With an infinite number of unique ability combinations and social dynamics, every game is different.

This adventure for 5th level characters takes place in the Historica Arcanum universe, where real history meets dark fantasy. The setting is the Republic of Venice in the early 16th century.
The secrets of the glassmaking industry on the island of Murano are jealously guarded: there is no leaving the island without government permission, and anyone who is discovered selling secrets to a competing kingdom will be quickly silenced. Despite the danger of breaking Venice's rules, a prominent glassmaker is missing and what he knows could shake the fragile balance of power in the Mediterranean. The adventurers are hired to find him and, if necessary, end him.
Pregen characters will be provided, with story hooks to connect you quickly to the adventure. Also, in Historica Arcanum, powerful spells cause warps in Reality, creating potentially negative effects called Spell Rebound.

This 6-hour "one-shot" session features a brief world/rules intro, pre-gen character selection, an introductory 'score,' and brief 'downtime,' followed by a second 2-3 hour score. The game system empowers the GM to improvise scenarios based on player choices, shaping scores around the crew's goals. And so, after starting with the first scenario, 'A Murder of Crows,' your decisions will lead to an exciting, player-driven final score.
