The Adventure of the three Damosels of the Fountain
Summary:
It is the Romance Period, and the mystical force of amor threatens to supplant the feudal bonds of duty and honor. This is the time of the treasonous affair between Sir Lancelot and Queen Guenevere.
Description:
It is the time of the Pax Arthur, the Peace of the Pendragon. King Arthur has ruled Britain for twenty years, and the land and people have prospered. His subjects see him as a wise and just king. Although Arthur defeated the rebel kings of Britain, not all of their vassals have bent the knee. Pockets of discontent remain. Some barons hesitate to swear fealty to a foreign king. Others defy his rule entirely and contemplate rebellion. The seeds of strife quietly stir in the peaceful hills and vales of Arthur’s young kingdom.
In the grim darkness of Arthur's illness there is only war and horror. (Body horror, Noetic horror, Cosmic horror, sexual violence, demonology, witchcraft, carnage)
Description:
Arthur has been wounded and lies ill in his bed. The sword Excalibur has gone missing, and the land is in despair. Petty lords have sprung up in every corner of the land bringing death and destruction as they seek to seize wealth and power in the vacuum left by what was once Camelot. You are a household knight to one of these petty lords who has gone raiding against a neighbor. The seneschal has called on you to explore a tower the foresters found in the forest - only one has returned. Since the lord has taken his vassal knights with him you are the only resources left to the seneschal to investigate the tower and attempt to retrieve what may be left of the other foresters. The forest may be full of raiders, demons, fey, or chaos worshipers. Keep your sword close and your shield high for in the grim darkness of Arthur's fall there is only war and horror
