Description:
"No empire springs into being fully-formed. Their genealogies are as messy as their modes of operation." - Cole Wehrle.
History is so often presented in broad strokes. The battles, the wars, the treaties, the laws, the deals, the crimes. Names get attached to these events, known as the movers of history. The Hastings’, the Larkins’, the Paxton’s. Behind these names are a multitude of interwoven stories that become the true fabric of history. It often takes digging through the archives to understand just how important those stories are. John Company Second Edition from Wehrlegig Games, is one of the most poignant reflections on the means and motivations of colonial expansion in the 18th and 19th Century using the family as a lens. With The Company Archives, players dig deeper into the game’s argument, through an RPG experience layered on top of the boardgame play.
