Description:
Play a public domain Golden Age hero in the grittier world of 1962. Your actions will forever affect this game in future years. This game is very friendly for new players, but has been going on for 14 years and is set to end in 2020.
This game is a miniatures-based combined-arms mass-combat game that uses all the units you know from Battletech. It is designed to let you play larger scale battles (many, many units) in a few hours or a smaller game much quicker. It is also miniatures-based, which means the board is not hexed like in classic Battletech and instead miniatures rules are used. Likewise, instead of using the 8.5" by 11" record sheet per mech that classic Battletech uses, the game uses a playing card size record sheet per unit (though these are often printed on one sheet of paper to save space and organization). This event will teach all of the basics of the game system so you can then feel confident to play on your own or in our other similar events.
