Description:
All you need are your hands, and a few brain cells. By the end of the workshop, you will be able to embellish your stories like a true Dungeon Master. This is a chance to be silly, learn to beat the pants of everybody in charades, learn how to communicate, cheat on tests, talk behind your bosses back, and many other things. There are many ways can one use sign language anyway! We will learn the alphabet, some signs (participant directed) and classifier usage (the fun stuff that makes good gestures and your stories come alive). Come in and find out, all experience levels welcome, all hearing levels welcome. The more the merrier!

Learn to build armor with Worbla with Internationally award winning cosplayer, Mogchelle! From patterning to armor piece! This will be day 1 of 3 workshops to get you through in armor build. Build, finish/smooth, attach! Get your armor building basics on, and Sunday you'll have a fully finished piece of armor if you attend all 3.
Choose, color, cut out & perform simple translucent shadow puppets with veteran shadow puppeteer, Jim Napolitano. Learn techniques to further explore shadow puppetry at home.
Description:
Make your very own shadow puppet with Jim Napolitano. Jim's work has been seen on Nickelodeon (Stick Stickley), Disney (Book of Pooh), and PBS (Between the Lions). Participants will create and perform simple shadow puppets with simple easy-to-acquire materials. Additional information will be presented that will allow further exploration of shadow puppetry beyond the workshop.
Express your artistic style in the form of Artist Trading Cards (ATCs). You can choose to keep your creations or swap with others. ATC blanks and sleeves are provided. Loaner art supplies available.

You may bring your own art supplies (markers, pencils, pens, glue, mixed media papers, ect.) or use the loaner art supplies available during the workshop. Participants are welcome to bring already completed ATCs to swap, create ATCs to swap during the workshop or simply just create ATCs to take home. Please be aware that this is a workshop open to ages 13+ so ATCs at the event must be appropriate for all ages. Keep in mind that participants may be at different levels of skill or practice, so come prepared to be patient and respectful of others.

In this workshop you might get a little messy. You'll learn the basics of resin casting, and get some hands on practice with product from Smooth-On. Professional cosplayers Carl Martin from Shinka Studios and Mogchelle Cosplay will be taking you through the steps so you can start casting your own items in resin at home. All materials will be provided, and you can keep what you cast!
