The Dark Naga has descended upon the Second City with his horde of frenzied followers. They crave the death of all humans & only the samurai of the Great Clans can stop them.

Driven from the Empire and hungry for revenge, utterly evil Dark Naga, known untold thousands of years ago as Shahismael, has set his sights upon the Second City in the Colonies. There, the inhuman monstrosity believes it will find an artifact granting untold power over serpents throughout the world, and finally bring about its dream of an empire of serpents, where mammals are enslaved and devoured, as they should be. The Empire's dark fate has been avoided for now. Winners of this unique event will help save the Second City from destruction, as well as help to destroy the Dark Naga. They must hold off the Dark Naga for 12 hours (12 Events). The nature of this event is unprecedented in the history of L5R, the level of influence the players involved will have over the final result may be somewhat more extensive than in other events.

The followers of Seiken and Shibatsu have abandoned pretense, and spill one another's blood to the throne for their lord. Which two clans will take the field of battle?

The two sons of the Divine Empress have expressed no desire to wage war against one another. Their followers often choose not to hear this part of their message. Traditionalist followers of Iweko Seiken and progressive followers of Iweko Shibatsu have grown increasingly hostile toward one another. In the late summer heat of the Colonies, the tempers of the Great Clans can bear no more. The winner of the final tournament will determine the clan that claims victory on the field of battle, the first true military conflict on behalf of the Iweko heirs, determining which of the two heirs his clan supports. The second place finisher of this tournament will determine the other clan involved in the battle, automatically taking the field on behalf of the second scion of the Iweko Dynasty. Regardless of who claims victory in this epic conflict, the Colonies of the Empire will never be the same.

A generation ago, a terrible plague cursed the Empire. Those who succumbed to it were born again, plague dead. 1000's of Rokugani perished and then rose to walk again in the final insult to their honor and their families. Countless enraged samurai rode the land to purge this dishonor. As the Destroyer War waned, the plague-dead were returned to the ash from whence they came, and the horror was left behind... Save for one incredibly deadly exception. For more than a generation, the corpse of former Scorpion Champion has walked the earth, hidden by shadows, eluding the hunters. The Disgrace, as the beast is known, has vexed the Scorpion endlessly. Bayushi Nitoshi, son of the Disgrace and current Scorpion Champion, will see the Disgrace destroyed. The winner of this tournament will determine the clan affiliation of the samurai who stands at his side when the final blow is at last struck.
