This class will teach how to build a dreamcatcher off of a prexisting lace piece. Dream catchers are one of the most fascinating traditions of Native Americans. The traditional dream catcher was intended to protect the sleeping individual from negative dreams, while letting positive dreams through. The positive dreams would slip through the hole in the center of the dream catcher, and glide down the feathers to the sleeping person below. The negative dreams would get caught up in the web, and expire when the first rays of the sun struck them. The dreamcatcher has been a part of Native American culture for generations.

During this event, you will learn how to cross stitch, including what supplies are necessary for cross stitch, how to start, complete, and finish stitches, what to do with your completed works, and good resources for gaming/nerd culture themed cross stitch patterns. All experience levels are welcome at this event! The pattern, towel, thread, thread organizer, needles, and bag to keep everything in will be provided. PLEASE BRING A PENCIL AND SCISSORS. I will have a limited number of scissors available. As a note - Cross stitch takes some time to complete. Do not expect to finish your cross stitch towel during the 2 hour time slot for this event. All supplies for the pattern will be provided, and you should be able to complete the project at home on your own time. After learning how to make a basic stitch, you will be able to complete all stitches in the pattern.
