Good-aligned campaigns are just so insufferable. We have discovered the secret to happiness. Evil. Join us for a lighthearted discussion of how to run an evil-aligned game. Join the revolution!
Description:
Good-aligned campaigns are boring. Rescuing princesses, slaying dragons, turning the undead, that's all passé. It’s time to add some variety to your RPG. Our mission is to encourage more gaming groups to try an evil setting. For several years, Josh Long has run a 3.5 campaign with all evil-aligned characters. The actual play podcast can be found at Geekspective.com. We'll share our hard-earned experience on what works and what does not when running an evil-themed role playing game. The group's solutions have led to a game that is more flexible, rewarding, and challenging than a traditional good-aligned campaign. We'll discuss playing evil characters, evil social settings, intra-party conflict, keeping evil characters motivated, setting tough encounters for ruthless player characters, and giving moral quandaries to amoral characters. We'll explain why it can be so good to be so bad.
Join us to discuss what makes a great adventure module. We'll give you our perspective on what makes a module good, bad, or great, & then take questions from the audience.
If you're doing it right, one of the hardest parts of game design is writing clear rules. How to do it varies with your audience. Improve rules as you playtest. Includes Do's and Dont's handout.

How can we go beyond the Femme Fatale in crafting female characters with a touch of villainy about them? We'll talk at length about cool women in RPGs who are neither good nor evil.

Improvising while GMing a game is a skill many people think they will never have. The Gamer Assembly is here to show you that not only can you improvise - you already do, you just might not realize it! We will discuss the keys to good improvisation and how doing it more often can really take your games to the next level. Maybe even Epic Level! It won't be all talk either. Several improvisation games and skill builders will be taught and used! The Gamer Assembly panels are always interactive. The seminar wall between presenter and participants is torn down as we explore these topics together. With the speaker acting as moderator and guide through these topics, you're sure to learn a lot!
