Our little village has exploded with new folks with the news of good jobs in the gold mine! Over the past years, the village has quickly grown into a city, and has become the capital of a new Duchy. This new beautiful city isn't perfect, though. Recently, the payroll has been stolen on the way back into town. One of the noblemen has accused the Duke of being an inept leader, and the folks in town are beginning to worry about the fact that they haven't been paid yet. The mines have slowed production over the past few years, due to the loss of the prospector who had long found the new lodes. Gambling and other disreputable new businesses have popped up due to the need for work. This has given the more vocal opponents of the Duke ample evidence to publicly defy him. And there are rumors abound that the rebel group has rebounded and become stronger since their setback after meddling by the Duke and his hired hands.
