Description:
Once a year on Founders’ Day in the town of Triverton, court is held. This year, a messenger from the king reveals that the town must begin paying taxes. Who will pay them? The PCs must decide. But tax policy is not the only foe our characters will face. The shadow of the past hangs large over Triverton – both in the memory of its founders and in the growing unease amidst its residents. Something strange has been happening. Disappearances, strange rumors, increased crime… the pattern is there for those who recognize it. A foe long thought dead has regained its power. The darkness that walks like a man, the Nightmare, stalks the living once again… And kidnaps the mayor's children. Can the characters rescue the children, deal with a libertarian populace angered about tax policy, and in the process defeat the Nightmare once and for all?
