This class will focus on figure conversion and the use of “green stuff” Kneadtite sculpting putty. Students will learn different aspects of figure conversion, from basic to advanced. The class will touch on the pose of the figure, basing, and the theme of model. Joe will discuss different techniques from single display models to large units. Students will learn to utilize green stuff for figure embellishment and sculpting.
Students will receive four hand picked sculpting tools, tweezers, pen, glass sculpting surface and an instructional pamphlet as part of the course fee. Also Joe will demonstrate some new techniques exclusive to the class.

Join PP Grandmaster and multiple Golden Demon and Gen Con winner Zach Lanier and we’ll get you started the right way. If you already have some knowledge but would like to strengthen your technique we will do that here too. We will talk about all the tools of the trade, including choosing and taking care of your brushes. I will help you decide which brands of paint might work best for you and discuss how additives change those paints. We will also discuss some techniques to help you get better results and more enjoyment from the hobby.
Overview of materials for urban, wilderness, snow, sci-fi and interior bases incl. clippers, putties, glues, rocks, flowers, textured styrene, etc. Free goodie bags of 10+ sample materials.

An overview of tools and materials you can use to create or enhance bases – textured styrene or rubber stamps for quick cobblestones, bricks or tiles; greenstuff putty and alternatives to create your own textures; how to deal with built-in bases; materials to use for rocks, flowers, plants, snow, furniture, glass; glues for various purposes; and other useful tools. Attendees receive samples of 10 or more basing materials to take home and try out, and a hand-out listing places to find good basing supplies.
In this class I'll share all the tricks I've picked up over the years. Learn weathering, quick color-scheme design, freehand, quick and easy basing techniques, and solutions for tricky problems.
