Description:
Are you tired of painting gray-looking blacks and blue or dingy looking whites on your miniature figures? Black and white really are a little tricker to paint! Join award-winning painter Rhonda ‘Wren’ Bender for a hands-on look at painting better blacks and whiter whites. Topics include the theory behind what makes these colours different to paint, simulating different types of surfaces (hair, cloth and leather), and colour choices for highlighting black and shading white more effectively. IMPORTANT NOTE: This is an INTERMEDIATE LEVEL class, and assumes attendees have at least some prior experience with techniques such as layering (or wet blending, two brush blending, etc.) to create transitions between highlights and shadows.
Celebrate some of the best figure painters in the world as well as new up and coming stars. Independent awards, the Aces of Painting, as well as the winners of the main competition will be announced.
Award winning painter Meg Maples explains and demonstrates the art of painting expressive faces and eyes. This includes painting male & female faces plus facial details such as scars & stubble.
