Too many minis staring back at you with blank faces? Looking to step up your paint game but not sure how? Learn to use challenges in fun ways to finish stalled projects and stretch your skills!
Description:
This clinic will focus on using fun challenges to put forth quality work. There are many obstacles to completing painting projects: time management, perfectionism, distractions, over-choice, and not feeling like we are making progress in our art. We will address all of these and more through the use of simple (and fun!) challenges and strategic goal setting. We'll also cover technique questions as they come up--no need for lots of experience. Stop looking at unpainted, unfinished, or uninspired work and pick up your brush! You'll receive a primed metal mini to practice on and take home, and this clinic might also include mini prizes for completing challenges.
Learn how to increase model appeal by using warm/cool colors, mixing unique shade/mid/highlight combos, & complementary vs. contrasting colors. Make it pop! Metal mini to keep.
Description:
This clinic will focus on composition and using color to make your models look more interesting. We'll discuss basic color theory, how to mix your own colors (especially for more interesting shades and highlights), and how to make your blends smooth (ink wash, layering, 2-brush blending). We can accommodate a wide variety of brush techniques and skills as well, depending on participant interests. Some painting experience is encouraged, but even newbs will benefit. Bring your questions! A different metal mini is provided for each Squid Studios clinic.
