This hands-on class covers tips and tricks to improve freehand painting techniques and their use. Paints, brushes, and a miniature provided. Students are encouraged to bring their own brushes.

Description:
Glazing is a simple yet versatile technique you can use in painting miniature figures. Attendees will practice the technique hands-on under the guidance of award-winning painter Rhonda ‘Wren’ Bender. She will outline and demonstrate additional uses for glazing including: improving blending transitions, shifting a colour, adding depth to skin, more realistic tattoos and fur patterns, shading non-metallic metal, weathering and dirt, and grisaille or underpainting. Each attendee receives a free high-quality figure from Dark Sword Miniatures, and a colour handout. Paints and other supplies for hands-on practice during class are provided, but you are encouraged to bring a good brush.
Hands-on class: learn fast and easy method to paint more natural hair on your miniature models. Miniatures provided by Dark Sword, paints by Reaper (RMS).
Description:
This class is hands-on - you will complete the technique in class as you follow along. I swing around to not only show you what I am doing close-up, but help you as you work on your own miniature - step by step. No need to take notes - you will receive an informative step-by-step handout to refer to at home. I will provide everything except the brush - and you need a good one with a point! The technique uses feathering and glazes to achieve a more natural looking hair on your miniatures that can be tailored to table-top or high level competition. Miniatures provided by Dark Sword Miniatures. Paints are RMS from Reaper Miniatures. As time allows, please bring your current projects for help or critique.
