In Atlantis Rising you portray one of the leading citizens of Atlantis on the eve of its destruction. You must work together with the other players to construct a cosmic gate capable of transporting the remainder of the island to safety, before your civilization is lost forever to the sea. Each turn you and the other players will choose where to send your followers: the closer to the sea, the greater the potential reward, but also the greater the risk! Next, you draw misfortunes - which may eliminate the section(s) of the island to which you chose to send your followers. Finally, you reap the benefits of your selection, if it is still above water. Afterward, the Athenians attack, hoping to plunder the island before it sinks beneath the waves. Finally, you may build a component of the cosmic gate if you have the correct combination of resources.
