Gen Con's come to a close yet again - join the hard-workin' anime & film staff for one last hurrah. Let us know what you liked, what you loved - and maybe even what you hated.
Coming up on stage to get your chance at the mic as the voice of an anime charater is a ton of fun, but to get a taste of what it really feels like during the production of a dub join Michael Sinterniklaas when he brings out the full rig and puts audience members through the paces of getting a script and lines and having to make it fit and feel right. Just how hard is it to keep from tripping over your own tongue? Will the beeps drive you mad like those who have come before? Can you give that dramatic scene the weight and gravitas it needs - or will you break under the pressure? If you've ever dreamed of being a voice actor or just wanted to know what the process is like, you won't want to miss this hands-on look behind the scenes.
The dubbing doesn't end when Gen Con Indy comes to a close - this is your shot at a role in a real anime dub! Always wanted to try anime dubbing? Ever thought you could do a better job at dubbing your favorite anime than the professional voice actors? Well, here's your chance to show what you've got! Step up to the mic and try your hand at dubbing some of your favorite anime characters. Try to match the voices you know and love, or show us how you think a character should have been dubbed. This event is hosted by veteran dub directors Michael Sinterniklaas and Tom Wayland. Several audience members will be chosen to take over the mic and try their hand at providing the dialogue for a scene. Stop by to check out your fellow attendees' takes on how they'd dub a scene, or take control of your favorite character's voice yourself!
